This jumper is knitted in the round up to the armholes. To enable you to then continue knitting in the round, extra stitches are cast on after the underarm stitches have been placed on a stitch holder or waste yarn. These extra stitches are 'steeks' and are knitted in a 1x1 stripe pattern. The same method is used at the neck opening. All steek stitches are cast off at the shoulder. When your garment is complete, cut down the centre stitch of each steek, fold over and neatly sew down on the inside. During the instructions, Sizes 2 & 3 are in parentheses. The jumper is worn with the cuffs folded back.
