The sweater can be knitted either top down in stockinette stitch with raglan increases, or bottom up with raglan decreases. In the top-down version, short rows are worked to shape a deeper neckline before the work is divided into sleeves, front and back, which are completed separately. In the bottom-up version, the front and back are first worked in the round to the underarms, after which the sleeves are knitted and all parts are joined and decreased for raglan shaping. Both versions are finished with trumpet-shaped sleeves.
