In-person class at Espace Tricot, 6050 Monkland Ave, Montreal.

Knitting a sock is a great introduction to basic knitting construction methods which can be useful in future projects. This class will walk you through step by step how to knit a basic top-down heel flap and gusset sock. You will learn how to figure out the proper sizing, how to manipulate knitting with double pointed needles (DPN’s) or using the Magic Loop method with a long circular needle. You will also learn how-to pick-up stitches along the heel flap and do short rows for the heel turn; finishing with how to graph the toe portion closed and have a perfect first time sock.

Materials required: (pattern included with class), 100gr of fingering weight sock yarn of choice.   2.25 or 2.5mm – 32”/100 cm circular or DPN’S of sized needles to obtain a 32st/4” gauge, a tapestry needle.

Prerequisites: Advanced beginner (student must know how to knit, purl, decrease, and increase).
