Our values

At Espace Tricot, we are committed to providing a safe, welcoming space for all. That means we welcome Black, Indigenous and People of Colour, members of the LGBTQ community and people with disabilities - and we defend our space from those who would make it unsafe for anyone.

We do not tolerate hatred, bigotry, micro-aggressions or any behaviour that threatens the safety and comfort of our staff or customers, both online and in our store.

Attendees of our classes, knit nights and other events must acknowledge these values and abide by them.

We find so much joy in our knitting and crafting, and sharing it with our customers and community is at the centre of what we do at Espace Tricot. We look forward to welcoming you.

Espace Tricot is located on the unceded Indigenous lands of the Kanien’kehá:ka Nation. This land, and Tiohtià:ke / Montreal, have long been a gathering place for many First Nations. We respect the diversity of Indigenous and settler peoples now making their home here.

We endeavour to reflect these values in our customer service, our charitable collaborations and donations, and our business relationships. We recognize that unlearning the systems built by racism, colonialism, and the patriarchy is a lifelong project.

This is a living document, and may change over time.
